I am running 10.4.4 and can upload files via Terminal and view and download files via Finder using FTP. However, I can't upload files via any FTP client. They always timeout while getting directory info. Also, I'm using Comcast, and have the same luck when connected directly via Ethernet and Airport. How can I get FTP to work with a GUI? Thanks!
 
I'm using 10.4.4 and ftp to my website using cyberduck.

Putting in the right setting with a GUI sometimes takes much fiddling around but I can't see an fundamental reason why it won't work for you.

Can you give an example of a time when it doesn't work?
