1. Is there a way for me to display the IP addresses of devices on my ethernet network?
2. When I turn an ethernet device (say a net disk) off and on, it seems to come back -- at least sometimes -- with a different IP address. Therefore the alias that I've made of it and/or the dock item I've created will no longer work. Is there a way to avoid this problem? When I first connect to my powerbook I like to keep its icon in my dock. But sure enough, when I take it off on the road (sort of what it's for) and then reconnect, the dock item flunks out. Surely there must be a way to make this nice feature work.
