hey all, i updated with tiger last night, only to find mail 2.0 to crash EVERYTIME i try to open it. i've tried finding "httpmail" through spotlight (which someone mentioned earlier) but alas, NOTHING!

where should i start?

Did you repair disk permissions?

Did you run /sbin/fsck?

Did you delete the prefs files?

What I always do first in a case like you
described is to log into another user ac-
count on the machine to establish whet-
her there is something wrong with the
app (in that case it would also crash
when logged in as another user), or
whether it has to do with a faulty
setting in my user account.

If none of the above helps or the app
also crashes when logged in as another
user, try re-installing Mail. (There is a
great shareware called Pacifist that lets
you install cetain OS X apps/packages
without having to re-install the OS it-
self!)

Hope this helps.

httpmail? That plugin is probably causing it. Remove it, and see if it doesn't crash then.

My Mail is the same way. I deleted the prefs and am not sure how to run /sbin/fsck. From Terminal, but what else do I need to type to make the command work?

I've also repaired disk permissions and even attempted to run the new version of Cocktail, which has also crashed. My whole system just took a dive as well but it all started with Mail repeatedly crashing.

I was able to open Mail, it began (and finished) importing my old saved mail, then crashed. Now it stays open for about 4 seconds before it crashes.
