Tiger upgrade

I have an iBook that my boss gave me and it's listed as an Administrator's Computer. But I have my own log in and am now finally thinking of upgrading to Tiger. However, the "administrator" has left our company and I wonder if I will have to have an administrator password to install and upgrade to Tiger? (I haven't needed it to install other applications but this would be major.)
Thanks

The Tiger install DVD has a feature that will let you reset the administrator password. Just boot into the Tiger install DVD and when you're into the installer, you'll notice a menu at the top of the screen. On this menu is an option to reset the master/admin password.

Thanks. But does that mean I have to have the original administrator password in order to reset it? Because I don't have access to that at all. He's long gone and with it, his password.
