Time keeps going back 4 hours after shutdown

My computer's time keeps going back exactly 4 hours after shutdown in Mac OS X. This problem didn't surface until I reinstalled Classic (Mac OS 9) on my 12GB HD (see specs below). I've tried zapping Parameter RAM and locking out changes in the System Preference Pane for Date & Time. When I startup in Mac OS 9, everything is fine. Any suggestions?

The problem you're seeing is that there are actualy two time settings within OS X. One for the BSD subsystem and another that you'll see within the GUI. (the GUI resides in a different time zone :D)
More than likely your time is reverting back to the BSD time instead of the time from OS X GUI.

I'm not sure how you would fix that but it may spark somebody's imagination!
