This version of tinker tool is amazing. It has a truck load of new features, and you can even quit the finder! The performance when you quit the finder goes up alot. Good job to who wrote this :)

You forgot to say that it STILL rocks. :)

As does, of course, menuversum (search http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx for both tools).

But before I start to promote all the other freeware tools I use, let's look at the new features in TinkerTool 2.1:

- New Installer (finally a GREAT prefpane installer)
- Finder can be quit (no, it doesn't restart automatically)
- Column View: Turn off Preview! (wow!)
- Finder Relaunch from within TinkerTool (erhm... it quits but doesn't come up again, but okay...)
- Screenshot format can be set (CMD-3, CMD-4)
- New language packs (can be selected from Installer)

All in all this is a must have upgrade. Even more so because this preference pane is absolutely free. We should all hail the developers who make freeware. OpenSource might be cool, but a good freeware developer is often worth a thousand OS-coders. :) (bad ones at least...)
