This version of tinker tool is amazing. It has a truck load of new features, and you can even quit the finder! The performance when you quit the finder goes up alot. Good job to who wrote this

You forgot to say that it STILL rocks.
As does, of course, menuversum (search http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx for both tools).
But before I start to promote all the other freeware tools I use, let's look at the new features in TinkerTool 2.1:
- New Installer (finally a GREAT prefpane installer)
- Finder can be quit (no, it doesn't restart automatically)
- Column View: Turn off Preview! (wow!)
- Finder Relaunch from within TinkerTool (erhm... it quits but doesn't come up again, but okay...)
- Screenshot format can be set (CMD-3, CMD-4)
- New language packs (can be selected from Installer)
All in all this is a must have upgrade. Even more so because this preference pane is absolutely free. We should all hail the developers who make freeware. OpenSource might be cool, but a good freeware developer is often worth a thousand OS-coders. (bad ones at least...)
