Hi there,

I'm new to this forum. I have a new iMac 800/15"/10.1.5

I run into the inconvenience of having too many fonts in my system folder. Whenever I try to pick a font on an application, I must browse through almost 100 fonts to get what I want. I tried removing the fonts from my system folder but I don't have enough priviledges....I tried enabling SUPERUSER/ROOT through netmanager (or something like that)....but I still can't remove the fonts.....

PLEASE HELP :confused:

thank you,

omar

You don't want to remove any fonts from here;

system>library>fonts

these are used by the system.

You can remove fonts from here;

user>library>fonts

or

library>fonts

If you can remove fonts from either of these two folders, do a Command-I and give yourself the Permissions.

Any fonts you remove, store in another folder just in case you need any of them.

thanx

i'll give that a shot and i'll post my results...it won't be until tomorrow morning though...i'm at work right now.

UNLESS YOU CAN HELP!!! PLZ

thx

I have a lot of fonts too so what worked for me is this:

remove all of the fonts that I installed and put them in a folder on the hard drive - I called it 'My Fonts'.

With suitcase's font doctor, I had it repair any damaged/corrupt fonts in that folder then had it group them all by family.

Then added the whole folder to suitcase where I chose the preference for auto activation.

So when in any application, classic or Jag, my fonts are always available to me.

Now I can be happy.
