Since getting my new iBook a couple of months ago, I've had issues with unwanted mouse clicks while typing. A lot. So much so that today I decided to dedicate some time to see if there was a fix other than having my thumbs amputated.
At the bottom of this post, I am pasting what I thought was the answer. I found it on your forums here. Basically, it's the "ignore trackpad while typing" miracle (ie: option in the system preferences). However, I am running 10.3.8 and it appears that this is no longer an option, which was available in 10.1. I do have "ignore accidental trackpad input" checked as an option, but it does not help. Even in just typing this little post, the mouse-click has taken me out of place 4 times. I actually have pretty good typing posture, touch type, and have never had this kind of problem with any of my other laptops with trackpads (I've used/had about 4).
Any suggestions?

10.1: New Life-saving Feature for 'Bookers
Alright, those of you with iBooks and PowerBooks, check this new feature of Mac OS X.1... Open your System Preferences application, click on the "Mouse" section, and click the "Trackpad" tab... make sure this new feature at the bottom is checked...
IGNORE TRACKPAD WHILE TYPING
Does this not kick butt? Now those of us who love to tap to click, but hate to throw off the cursor while resting our wrists can enjoy the best of both worlds... yay!
Sorry if this is blatantly obvious and I'm wasting your time... but I thought it was cool.
