I presently own a 5 yr. old iMac with OS 10.4. I will be buying a new iMac shortly and want to know the best way to transfer my files to the new computer.
As your setup assistant will tell you: Connect both computers via Firewire cable. Start the old one with "t" held down, and it'll start as an external Firewire-HD. The setup-assistant will then let you transfer the data very easily.
