Transferring Graphics

I have a problem using MS PPT and graphics.

Basically I prepare my presentations at home on my mac, transfer them via USB Flash drive to work, and then view them on a PC. My specific issue is with graphics copied and pasted from websites. They look fine on my Mac but end up missing on the PC (with a piece of text in its place "GIFF ...").

I guess that I am not actually pasting the graphic but some sort of link. How do I work atound this?

Many thanks in advance

Simon

It's GIF, not GIFF. To the point, you have to be extremely careful when you prepare Microsoft documents on an Mac for use on Windows. In the case of PowerPoint, you have at least two gotcha's. The first is the issue of graphics formats. I know that .jpg files work. I also know that .bmp files work. I restrict my graphics to these formats. Microsoft claims that .tiff is an Apple format. This format won't work unless your Windows machine has QuickTime installed. I have never tried to transfer presentation documents with embedded .pdf graphics. However, I am betting it won't work unless QuickTime is installed on the target Windows machine.

The other gotcha is your choice of bullets. I find that presentations with bulleted lists need to be polished on the target Windows machine if I want them to look like they did when I created them. The dingbat font chosen for the presentation on the Mac is not preserved when the document is opened on Windows.
