.Trashes .DS_Store ._.trash, is there a way to make it stop??

When I mount a windows share, a bunch of these files appear on the drive. I don't really care, but I'll get a lot of flak from the IS guys here at work...[I'm one mac on a network of 250+ peecees]

I'm assuming the Finder is responsible?
I know that . files are hidden from the finder in OSX, but unfortunatly it is not the case with Windows Explorer.

Is there a way to stop the creation these files? Or maybe a way to write a script to automatically delete them when the drive is unmounted?

I hope apple does something about this in Jaguar...

I guess the real question is did apple do something about this mess in 10.2?
How do other OSes store folder view options? There MUST be a cleaner way...
