I've just bought myself an Intel iMac after my PC went out with a bang (so to speak). All of my files were backed up onto my trusty USB 2 Toshiba Gigastore external harddisk.
Problem, I plug the thing into the USB port and nothing happens. The disk does show in System Profiler correctly and I can also see it in Disk utilty, however, I cannot do anything with it (I can also see it in /dev but cant seem to do anything with it there either).
How do I go about getting into this disk as it contains some very important stuff of mine (hence the reason it was a backup device
)
By the way, I am fairly new to OSX.
