Troubles with optical drive (iMAC Intel)

Hi,
I think that there is a problem with the fan or other of the optical drive in my iMAC.
For a DVD Video, no problem
For a game (children), problems !
I think that the temperature increase, and so the reading process couldn't work properly.
My son used to play 30 minutes and after that errors.
If I try to run the game when the iMac is hot, it doesn't work.
If I try to run the game at the start of the iMac, OK for 20-30 minutes !

Same troubles for lot of games, but for some others ... no problem.
Strange, isn't it ??

Here is the spec of the optical drive (ATA Series)

What happens when the games are installed and played from the startup disc?
Sounds like some of the games are cpu intensive.
What are the specs of your Mac?
Which games are creating problems?
iStat Pro will show CPU, RAM, Temps and fan RPMs.
