Typepad sites not opening

I have a number of Typepad blogs bookmarked - have been using most of them for a couple of years. A couple of days ago, my bookmarks stopped working. Anything with a typepad URL will not open. In fact, even if I type the URL into the browser, the computer just sits there. I can, however, get to the site if I click on a link from somewhere else. So far, typepad is the only thing I can see that is affected.

iMac (purchased in 2006,) OS-X, using Safari browser

Thanks for any insight you can offer.
 
What version of OS X?
What version of Safari?
Do other browsers work?
Have you cleaned the caches in Safari?
