typing coordionation brain glitch

For the longest time now, every time I try to type "remember" I type "remeber" instead. It's incredibly frustrating to helplessly skip that second "M". It's some sort of glitch in my brain and I can't seem to shake it. Did this ever happen to anybody else? The really bad part about it is the meaning of that word, I mean why did it have to be that word? It's like karma, maybe God's trying to tell me something. A secret message or something - "I really do exist, hahahaha". I'm sure with enough wasted time I could figure it out.

Habilis, my friend , do not worry you are not alone! I have Dyspraixa, (dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk/ for more info) I fund that spelling is a real bug bear for me. Having just finished my GCSES in the UK, I did all my exams that required typing, (English, Religious Studies etc) on a computer in M$ Word. My handwriting also suffers allot, since primary school, i have worked hard to find ways around this problem. I now do most if not all of essay type work on a computer, and although this is not fixing the problem, it is a problem that can not be fixed, only lived with.

My hand eye coordination also suffers allot, Physical Education for me was a complete no no.

Do you suffer from any of these problems? or are they just spelling related?

Adam :D

uh oh. Well, for the moment at least it appears to be just typing that word, and the other word is "manage" I always type "magnage" instead. I have to proofread myself for these 2 all the time. It would suck so bad to have this happen with all words. I think I would definately crack up. I'm hoping it's just a temporary glitch. Like for about a 3 month period, about 2 years ago I kept tripping on my right foot, it wasn't new shoes or surroundings, I thought I had brain damage for a while but then it stopped and it never happened again. But I probably do have brain damage, that's a given.

This seems to be normal behavior. Your fingers are moving in a way that's familiar. I find myself mistyping certain words all the time, often trying to correct myself and making the same mistake 5 or 6 times in a row before I get it right. It's just something you've got to live with yourself.

To see what kinds of mistakes you make regularly, type something (like into the quick reply box on this site) without being able to see it, then read back through it and see what errors you've made. I find I often insert spaces where they shouldn't be.

I had a college roommate who would write all his papers first and then had to type them. For me, after I type something, I use speak text and listen for errors..

I always have to look at the keys when I type, although I only need to quickly glance at it now and my brain remembers where certain keys are like ones under my hands. Just don't ask me how many words per/minute.

How'd you learn to type?

Powermac: Why'd he do that? And I like your method. I may try it myself.

Hey man, Re-Educate yourself !

Typing panic ? Keep cool. Nobody's checking if you can type 30 kps ! You're not a graphic card, you're on the other side of the HI. Keep cool.

It's usually a good idea to double-check the stuff you write anyway. Many people on this forum (and online in general) could stand to benefit from this. When I write these posts, I try to use correct capitalization, grammar, spelling, etc. because there's no real rush to get it out. I have lots of time to type this, and I want it to be readable and understandable without having to explain too much.

IM'ing is the other way. When you IM and chat, you want to get your message out as quickly as possible, so you use abrv's & u dont always punct your stuff
