okay so i went about fixing up my mac ibook g4. it sat around for a while and i forgot the password to my user name. no big deal, happened a few times. so i popped in the mac osx disk. i did reset password. now here is a whole new problem i never encountered. and im not very mac savvy. basically i have no login now. when i go to reset password again it list no accounts at all... when i click on the hard drive that is.... what can i do? i heard that u can make a user name using the mac terminal thing?

Have you tried running any repairs on the disk itself or repairs on the permissions when booted from the installation discs? The isntallation disc gives you the option to launch Disk Utility from the menu at the Welcome screen.

Also, please be patient when asking questions in the forum. I just came across this post today, and it's possible that those who might have seen it just do not know the answer and wouldn't be of any help by posting "I don't know" as a reply so they move on. If you need immediate assistance, there is a section where you can schedule time with a MacOSX.com volunteer. Also, try searching in the meantime for solutions that might have already been posted within the forum using the Search function. And yes, even Google is your friend. ;)
