Umax Astra 6400 with Classic

Ok, I know about Silverfast and Vuescan, but I'm wondering if anybody has successfully managed to get VistaScan working in Classic. We don't have the money to buy either right now, so a clumbsy solution to allow us to run 10.3 (the Vistascan beta for OSX does not run on 10.3).
 
try getting magicscan, their other twain driver. it seems to work on lots of other of their scanners besides the ones they specify it for. it works in classic with my 2000u without crashing. last i was there, the only way to find it was to specify some of their other models until you run across it.
