Unable to empty Trash

When I empty my trash icon, the following message appears:

'The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for "0"'.

I have tried enabling rootuser under netinfo and authenticating myself, but still am unable to empty my trash.

i have a load of junk to be cleared in the trash, but curiously when I look under /Trash I see that the directory is empty!

I tried to locate this "0" if it is a file and to chmod it to 777, and did a precise "file is 0" search under Sherlock, but I could not find the file.

Any ideas?

Cheers aplenty! Your script has cleaned up my trash.

Curiously, whenever I run "trash" script the following appears in the terminal

"/Users/llyrwy/bin/trash: UID: readonly variable"

what does the above mean? is that a problem? I did do a chmod 700 on the "trash" and made it executable.

Although I followed your link and its instructions, I left out doing a "rehash" because I don't know what it means.

Kindly advise. Thanks!
