Unable to switch on Airbook

When my daughter clicks the power button on her five-year-old Airbook, which recently had a brand-new battery installed, nothing happens. Anyone with suggestions, kindly?
 
Who installed the new battery? Has it started up since, or never since the new battery?
If never, or occasionally, I suspect the battery plug/wire(s) are loose or not seated properly. Take it back if someone else did it.
If it was you, retrace your steps and make sure all is tight!
 
Also - has the battery been charged? Sometimes a new battery is barely charged up and needs to be 'plugged' .
