... OK, if you have an Ink based product with duplexing problems (Deskjet, Officejet, Photosmart, etc.) and would like test the new drivers to make sure your duplexing problem is fixed, please do the following for me, and post the results back here. And please only try this if you're comfortable doing the process described. The results will not be supported by HP, so if you're not sure just wait and well get you final (supported) installers over the coming weeks.
That being said, here goes:
Step 1 - Download one of the beta drivers posted in the thread here. For example, you can download the one for the Officejet Pro L7300 Series.
Step 2 - Mount the disc image you just downloaded
Step 3 - Control click on the "HP Installer" file and select "Show Package Contents".
Step 4 - Open up "Contents" then "Packages".
Step 4 - Double click the file "HP Inkjet Printer drivers-CUPS.mpkg" to run the print driver installer. Note for extra credit you could copy this file into the same location of the beta installer you have already downloaded and then run the combination of your old installer with the new printer drivers in it. Again, this is for extra credit only.
Step 5 - Print! Print something with the new drivers that uses the duplexer.
Step 6- Post your results here, including which printer you have. Success, failure, partial success, whatever happens, post the results here. And please mention if you deserve extra credit so I know if you just ran the driver installer, or ran the full installer.
Thanks for your help with this. And your help will help me get "final" Leopard installers to you as quickly as I can.
Just trying to help.
