Back in the old days I was advised to buy the "sawtooth" G4 450 over the G4 400 - so I did. I'm still waiting for someone to come out with a processor upgrade, but have yet to see anything. Do I wait for the promise to come true, or should I start saving for a faster Mac? Should I expect a processor upgrade to be way too expensive and/or present some issues (for example, OS X does not really support my second monitor video card - Rage Orion 128 and it seems to simply "forget" its resolution settings every fifth time I boot up)?
I'm concerned that I will be left behind. I always sell my Macs when they are still worth something and then buy a new one, but I just love this machine and have hung on to it for two years - quite the committment for me. Maybe OS X 10.2 will run smoothly enough so I don't feel I need to get a DP 1 gig machine so my windows will resize faster!
