Upgrade my hard drive and keep my OS?

Hi!

I just bought my first mac off of eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5851762744&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

I need to upgrade the hard disk. It's at 7 gigabytes right now. My question is simply is there any way to upgrade my storage without having to replace the original hard disk? I don't know if you can set up a slave drive on an iMac?

At any rate, if any of you out there know how to help me out or at least point me in the right direction, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

Tyler

The iMac you've bought has no FireWire, I believe, and only USB-1. So external harddrives would either be very slow or simply not feasible. (Believe me, you never want to boot OS X from a USB-1 device, really.) And internally, there's simply no space for an additional harddrive. But: You should still be able to replace the harddrive and simply install OS X off the original CD media that should come with that iMac.

unfortunately the CD media doesn't come with the iMac. I don't know to much about "ghosting" a hard disk but is that an option? maybe ghosting the 7GB harddisk image onto say a 40GB?

thanks!
