What drive specification shall i look for? Can i buy a pc drive?

This is my specification of my cd drive:

SONY CD-RW CRX140E:

Model: SONY CD-RW CRX140E
Revision: 1.2a
Drive Type: CD-RW
Disc Burning: Apple Supported/Shipped
Removable Media: Yes
Detachable Drive: No
Protocol: ATAPI
Unit Number: 0

I would like a DVD drive to read/copy and write dvds also cds
What would you suggest i look for?

Thankyou
Matt

Could i possibly get an IDE/ATAPI dvd drive?

do pc drives work with macs?

sorry for all the questions but i really want to get a DVD+RW drive.

Thanks

Get the Pioneer I linked to. It's and IDE drive. Most IDE drives will work fine, but may not be compatible with Apple's iApps. The Pioneer will be. It's what Apple uses.

Yes, but you'll probably need PatchBurn to burn in the Finder or with the iApps from Apple.
