Upgrading 533 Mhz Dp with firewire 800?

I'm looking for someome out there who may have done this.
I want to install the FireWire 800 PCI card in my 533 MHz G4.
Is this product compatible with my system and what "external storage" device and cable do you recommend?

Should be compatible alright. Question is whether it's actually worth it...
