Upgrading Hard Drive On G5

I Am Looking To Upgrade My Mac ,i Want To Put A 320 Gig Hard Drive In Place Of The 160 Gig That Came With The Set Up..i Tried Copying The Old Bootable Drive To The New Drive But I Had Know Luck..all The Info Seemed To Be There But It Could Not Boot Up..i Have Done This On My Gateway But I Am Having A Problem With The G5..i Am Running Tiger 10.4.11 On A Dual 2.0 G5 ...ant Suggestions?
 
The best way to do this is to install the new drive, install OS X on that new drive from scratch, and then use the Migration Assistant to move the files over from the old drive to the new drive. I know that it's possible to do it from one Mac to another, but I've never tried it from one drive to another so I can't say that it works beyond theory.
