After paying $40 for my 4.1 upgrade to my Palm OS, I'm about ready to check my Vx in the woods.
First, I guess I can't do this in OS X, so I run it from booting from Classic (thought I was through with Classic by now). The darn OS installer crashed twice during the install - just froze up for no apparent reason leaving my Palm looking completely hosed. Don't worry, I backed up my files all over the place - because I expected a shaky ride from Palm. I'm about 50% through my third try now and this is further than the last two times. Even if it works I think Palm should be ashamed for its half baked software and lousy Apple support. This software as well as the new Palm desktop software for OSX is buggy and sub standard. No wonder their stock is in the toilet and I promise not to ever buy another Palm product again.
All this for a darn scribble note pad I had on my Newton 110 about 8 years ago! And the Newton had the option of converting the scribbles to text if I wanted! Where is the progress with Palm?
Thanks for letting me vent, but I am getting really sick of paying for lousy technology. I would like to think we are beyond the pioneering days where this kind of substandard product was acceptable. Will I be able to sync with my Palm Desktop OS X?
