I need some more USB 2.0 ports. I already have installed one PCI USB 2.0 board which works fine. Would I be better connecting a USB hub to one of the existing ports or installing another PCI USB board? I have 3 empty PCI slots.

It depends what you want to do. A hub will be slower, but if you just need to connect a keyboard, mouse, printer, or similar device, it will be fine. You want a card for a USB hard drive, data transfer (iPod..), etc.
