Hi MacOSX, and perhaps Jim Edmondson himself?
What a wonderful forum to find, and congratulations on your work and help.
I am running OSX10.4.6 on a G4 iBook and need to connect my USB ISDN modem, a Duxbury ISDN TA 128k ref MINI03121077. Currently, when I plug in the modem to the iBook's USB ports, no lights on the modem even light up (ie, it seems the iBook does not even recognise the device and feed it power). The USB ports do work (have used mouse, external keyboard and usb flash memory stick in them, all without problems).
I discovered a thread on your forum - and would you believe, from a fellow South African. But the thread ends just before the solution is given, because the person posting the questions sold their Mac! I have no intention of selling mine, so if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. As per the previous person's queries, the ISDN modem does work (I have used it on my old Windows machine) and the telco (called Telkom here) does support it, but neither they nor the modem suppliers are able to assist with Mac queries.
Here's the old forum thread: http://www.macosx.com/content/faq.php/q840/Isdn-Internet-Connection.html
Thanks in advance

PS: Spike Lee's "Inside Man" just came out in SA and I saw it tonight - complete with a lengthy shot of a beautiful Mac on the Jodie Foster character's desk. Perhaps Mr Lee loves the machines? Or perhaps Mr Jobs paid a whole lot of cash for product placement ;-)
