USB Key problem

I have a reaaal big problem.. I was using excel and working in a document just about 30 seconds ago, and I eject the file cause I need it on another computer..

I go to plug it in, and the thing doesn't boot, light doesnt come on, NOTHING. its an OCZ Rally2 (2GB) Model.

I have about 300 MB of seriously important documents/pdf/work I've done for the last year, HELP!!!!

I know i should have been backing it up, but I thought thats why you backup to devices like these... I have nothing avail on my laptop. I kept it all on the USB key! Crying won't help, so..

Any help would be appreciated! (of what limited help anyway)

Did you properly remove the USB drive by either dragging the mounted drive to the Trash icon on the Dock (on a Mac) or clicking the little "Safely Remove" icon in the System Tray (on a Windows PC)? You're supposed to do this so that any changes made to the USB drive can be made before it is removed. If you pull it out without removing it properly on either platform, you might end up with a corrupted USB drive or missing files.

I'm not sure if there's anything you can do at this point, but I hope that someone else here can prove me wrong.
 
yes I always "eject" the drive from the mac or "safely remove" on a pc. I have since I first got this. :( Thanks, keep it coming. I tried to even rapidly eject/remove/wiggle it, and still, its not even getting spark, like a little light or anything.. I even sent a message to OCZ, asking for my life back! lol
 
did you reboot the computer(s) and try again? try different usb ports etc.? (although i'd say from what you state, it seems it's dead somehow...) :/
 
I once placed data from a Mac onto a USB (thumb) drive, properly ejected it, walked a few steps to another Mac, and inserted it. The USB drive was not recognized. Nor, was it then (recognized) - on the first Mac.

The USB drive was inserted into a Wndoze base HP PCs' USB port - and it was listed within the 'MyComputers' 'Devices and Removable Storage' list. The USB drive was then ejected, and reinserted into each Macs. The Macs have since recognized the USB drive.

I was, at the time, unable to reboot the Macs, as fryke - suggests above; but, it is one to try.
