USB Keyboard Issue

I just purchased a M-Audio Radium 49 and mycomptuer is not detecting it! I am new to the whole USB<->MIDI interfacing and must be doing something wrong. I presume the keyboard is working just fine becaues it works using the midi cable. I plug the device device in and it does not show up in AMS. The drivers appear to be installed:

/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/M-Audio USB Support.plugin/

Am I doing something wrong with how OS X handles USB<-> MIDI devices?

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 with the most current driver installed.

Do you have this controller connected directly to the Macintosh using a USB cable or are you using a USB MIDI interface and connecting this controller via MIDI? Please elaborate.

In MIDI Setup, did you have it search for any connected devices?

My setup is as follows: I have a Yamaha S08 synth connected using MIDI cables (MIDI uses 5-pin DIN cables) to a MIDIman (now called M-AUDIO) MIDISport USB 2x2 MIDI interface which is connected to my iMac via USB. I went into MIDI Setup and had it detect any devices connected to the iMac. It detected the USB MIDI interface, but didn't detect my synth. I then had to manually add the MIDI synth and using the mouse, connect the USB-to-MIDI interface to the synth by dragging a line from one to the other: out of interface to in of synth, out of synth to in of interface. After this, I tested by sending some MIDI messages from the Mac and it worked.

Mind you, if you're using the controller directly through USB on the Mac, it will be much easier to set up, but you might have to test it.

Also, have you checked M-AUDIO's website for updated software that might support 10.3.9?

Its plugged in directly using USB.

Nothing is detected when I search for attached devices :(

I'm using a laptop if that matters.

Upgraded the drivers from their website.

The manual spoke of keystation software being installed but I did not see any when I ran the installation. I'm afraid I might have to set it up manually... Though I bought this model specifically because it supported USB and I wouldnt have to get an external midi setup for my Apple. Any ideas?
