Using 23' display solely from Powerbook...

Just bought an HP L2335 monitor. I can connect it to the Powerbook (using a DVI) in a dual display mode using the native 1,920x1,200 or connect it mirrored. In dual mode, the monitor is perfect but when I'm mirroring the Powerbooks' display, it shrinks the HP's height with the width the same, so everything appears elongated on it, with the Powerbook display goofy, due to the different resolution.

I want to display my Powerbook on the HP in the 1920x1200 like it's supposed to but w/o having to use the Powerbook itself. In dual mode, I have to scroll the mouse back over to it to open a program or use the above menu or dock. I want the dock and all on the HP with the Powerbook over on the side, using solely the HP monitor, a mouse and a bluetooth keyboard.

Anyone know how I can accomplish this? When I connect it to my tv with an s-video and it will transfer my whole desktop to the tv and thats what I want.

Thanks.

In the Monitors Control Panel drag the menu bar over to the large monitor. The system will switch to make the HP the primary monitor.

edit: If you close the Powerbook lid the system will go to sleep and when you wake it by touching a key the PB monitor will remain off. If you want you can re-open the lid and the PB monitor will remain off till the system sleeps again.

I've yet to find a way to keep the PB monitor off through sleep cycles with the lid open or turn it completely off with the lid open.

I've got the same setup but with an Apple Cinema display.

Perfect. I knew I could move the window around, but didn't realize I could swap the menu bar over. Got it. Thanks a million.... !!
