Using a CPI/PCI parallel card with classic

I use specifics applications (Roland Color Choice 3 and Flexi Sign Pro) in mac os 9 to print with a CPI/PCI parallel card for mac to a specific large format printer (Roland CammJet CJ-500). The problem is that mac os x (every versions including jaguar) doesn't reconize my parallel card (what mac os 9 do) so I can't print with my applications with the classic environment.

Does someone can help me with that?!

Have you checked the Manufaturer's site for drivers the parallel card? Most likely if they have made drivers for Os 9 they should have drivers for OS X also, but this isn't always the case. Who is the manufaturer and what is the model # of the card?

I checked that that but the manufacturer seems to be dead. Just in case you can help me : The compagny is Creative Solution Inc. I can't find a card number but in the box there is a mention of «open firmware driver»

From the looks of things you might have to find a new card that is OS X comaptible or go with some kind of USB to Parallel adapter. I think your only other option is a new printer that has a USB interface and is Mac compatible. By the way is your RIP software for the printer OS X compatible?

The software can in OS X run under the classic layer. When I do that I have a few choice to cofigure a new printer. I can plug a new printer via the usb/parallel cable but not via the parallel card (what is possible if I run only OS 9.x)

I an other forum reserved to sers of large format digital printer (like the one I use), and witch I didn't get answers for that problem yet, a guy said that with Jaguar the software run 3 to 4 times faster than in OS 9.2.2. I ask them if they can print from this application to the printer through Jaguar whit the usb/parallel cable with no performance problem. If the cable (US $89) give the same performance of the card (CAN $750 - about CAN $400 by the time we brought it), guest that our reseller screwed us!

It's a large format digital printer made by Roland a CammJet CJ-500. The latest models have ethernet connection but our work only with parallel port. Finally (à ma grande déception) we decided to run a pc as a print server, less complicated to install and the rip engine is more efficient

Thanx for your help guys! (I'm still open to answer but I think that is a lost :( )
