Okay, before I spend countless hours trying to figure this out, I have an n300 wireless Netgear router I purchased to stream netflix to the television. It is working fine with the computer that sits 20 feet away from it.
I have an airportexpress(n) and a backward tech (b/g)APE. I simply want to put the APE(N) halfway b/t the router and the back office so I can use the APE to help with signal from the router.
I tried to simply plugging in the APE. No, that would have been too easy.
So, I just tried to reset the APE (with the paper clip), everything proceeds nicely until I get the "nothing is plugged into the WAN on the router, if you are using a cable, then...." and I forget the rest. But it has to do with plugging something into the WAN etc.
Anyone have a simple solution or can help me understand what I have to do without screwing up the Netgear router setting? That all went very easily yesterday and I'm trying to keep from getting into a "time vampire" tech warp with this.
Thanks so much. You folks are great. PS I have told many people about this site to the point where I say, "don't do anything, and certainly don't just take the word of a salesperson at [insert box store name here] without checking MACOSX first."
