I have an xserve (dual 2.3 ghz, 1gb)running Tiger server(10.4.2) I have been led to believe that you can configure the two network ports on the xserve into a single trunk, giving your server a 2GB connection to the network.
I take it this would improve performance when multiple users are accessing the server?
I understand that I need a Switch that supports 802.3ad Link Aggregation, which I have.
Do I need to change anything on the switch or is it already setup.?
Also, is it just a case of plugging in an ethernet cable in the second port of the xserve?
And do I need to then give my second network connection a seperate IP or will it have the same IP as the first port?
I am fairly new to all this so any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
