Using iBook DVD drive to install on Powermac G4

I need to install some software from DVD (OSX Tiger + Logic Pro 7) onto my Powermac G4, but it does not have a DVD drive installed. I'm hoping to use the DVD drive on my iBook to install onto the Powermac by putting the iBook into transfer mode. Is this possible, or is there another way of doing it?
Also, will it be OK to install the Tiger that came with the iBook, onto the G4?
