Using New Cinema Displays with G5?!

I'd like to purchase one of Apple's new LED Cinema Displays but I don't own one of the new MacBook Pros.

At the moment I've got the original MacBook Pro and a G5. I was hoping to hook the new display up to my G5.

Is this completely impossible or is there a converter that will enable either of these Macs to connect up to the display?
 
Currently, there are no converters available AFAIK. You'd need a converter that lets you use a Mini Displayport *display* on a DVI port. Maybe you'll one day be able to get a graphics card with a Mini DisplayPort, but I really doubt it.
