[Apologies, just posted in HOW TO and didn't read NOT TO
-sorry, new to all this!]
I deleted large amt of items from external drive and then for faster deleting, I tried using Terminal from a post in her that said to do this: cd ~/.Trash then type in sudo rem -rt * (I'm also not sure where spaces are in these words. Also is there someplace to find out what these mean, and what else to type in terminal to make things happen, where to put spaces, etc?) ..anyway after trying to delete got error and have no idea what any of this means, so thanks ahead for help!
JRH:~ jrh$ cd ~/.Trash
JRH:.Trash jrh$ sudo rm -rt *
Password:
rm: illegal option -- t
usage: rm [-f | -i] [-dPRrvW] file ...
unlink file
JRH:.Trash jrh$
