Vender doesn't provide a driver for OS X. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I have an Epson Perfection1200U scanner. Epson is not making any OS X compatable drivers. I have tried other epson drivers, but none of them worked. Has anyone got a fix to make this work with OS X?

Somebody was saying that it can be done by modifying BSD/Linux dirivers to OS X.
Has anyone tried to modify BSD/Linux drivers to OS X and made it work?

I want any hints/suggestions. Please.

I would give VueScan a try. I had the same promblem with a formally acer, scanner and they didn't support it past OS 8!! But this VueScan thing has quite a few drivers and I think it has some generic ones too.
