Very Slow Network Speeds

Problem: Very slow saving across network from Photoshop 7.01 with OS10.2.3.

If I save a file that I am working on in OSX/PS7 to the server it takes about 20-23 seconds... Saving the same file with the same computer to the same server on the same network, but starting up in 9.22, it will take me 5 seconds. If I save the file to my local drive with OSX/PS7 its about 5 sec.

Setup: I have a dual 1.2Ghz mirror front with 2Gb RAM. I am running to a 1000T Switch, to an NT server that is Fiber Optic to the Switch. We use Xtreme IP on the Server.

Thoughts: Anybody having conflict with Xtreme IP, Cisco Hubs, NT Servers????

Does PS7 use file creator/types? Maybe it's going slow because of that. I don't have PS7, so I don't know for sure. If it does, it would have to save two files on the NT server, one the file and the other the .whatever-file-name-is file that is the resource fork.
