Hi All,
In my never ending quest to archive every form of media in my family history, I am often faced with grabbing video from VHS. Instead of using my camcorder as a pass through to iMovie or FCP, I found a neat little program that works very well with my Dazzle AV bridge (or any AD video device I imagine) - BTV and BTV Pro (http://www.bensoftware.com/)
I noticed that when trying to use the Dazzle to iMovie or FCP, both programs seemed to get hung up on looking for time code that these old VHS tapes (with some quality issues). This BTV software just takes whatever is coming from the video input (firewire vis the Dazzle).
I guess it is a dumb question, but at $40.00 this seems a deal. Before I pop for it, does anyone else have suggestions? If not, then maybe this thread will help anyone else looking for similar software. I think it may be the best thing out there. God, do I sound like an ad or what!
