Set-up:
1)PC-1 and PC-2 are connected to each other through VPN via internet.
2)PC 1 is hosted with MAC OS X and inbuilt VNC server (Remote sharing option in system preferences)
3)PC 2 is hosted with MAC OS X and chicken VNC client.
4)PC-1 is connected to 1 Mbps leased line and PC-2 is connected to 256kbps broadband line.

Description:
1)Configure PC-1 for inbuilt VNC server
2)Run chicken VNC client on PC-2 and connect to PC-1.
3)Play a video on PC-1 and this video should be viewable on PC-2.

Expected result:
The video should be viewable on PC-2 with tolerable delay.

Actual result:
Video viewing on PC-2 is very slow due to broadband line of 256kbps.

My requirement:
With the above set up, can we have a better picture quality in real time with no much delay on PC-2 using some video compression codecs??

For e.g -- In VOIP technology, two video IP phones can communicate with each other using a low speed internet lines and still have better video quality using compression codecs like H.264, H.263 -- Can we some codecs like this for the above set up?
