video downloading

Easiest way would be to buy Quicktime Pro, then click the arrow, which will give you the option "save as quicktime movie". Do this, import to iMovie, then export however you normally do so..

...and besides Quicktime Pro there's no alternatives?
Is it a .wmw file?

Finding a player that will play and download it is the issue. VLC doesn't work, WMP9 works, but no download..

It is a wmv file. Do you have permission to use the video from its owner?
