Video mov file ----> audio file (iTunes compatible)

The Lone Deranger
How do I take a .mov video file and convert it to another file type so that it's only an AUDIO file which is compatible with iTunes? Thanks a lot!

VLC, ffmpegx, or QuickTime Pro could do this. Search Google for any of these and you're golden; the first two are free solutions.

Well, this happens... I'm now officially confused, because it says that there's no audio track in the file. :S

*sighs*

I don't know what's wrong. What is this file you're trying to convert, if you don't mind sharing? If it's reasonably sized and you don't mind somebody else doing this for you, I would convert it myself.

...that is, of course, if you have screwed around with QuickTime a bit and have tried VLC first.

Mpg is very different from mov. QuickTime has pretty half-baked mpg support, and it won't allow you to export the audio (at least not most of the time). VLC, last time I checked, will not export to audio-only formats like mp3. ffmpegX, however, will do the job nicely.

For some reason, all 3 of these programs say that there is no audio track... :S Can you try DL'ing it from my link, and see if you get this problem too? thanks

I'm sounding really stupid right now, but what do I click on that webpage to download it?
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it
