Video Streaming from intel iMac

Hi, I used to have a video camera attached to my pc that would stream the content over the web so that I could monitor my house while at work using Windows Media encoder. Is there an equiv for mac os x?

I'd like it to beable to use either the built in isight or a remote firewire camcorder.

You could start a video conference with yourself, but you'd have to use something like VNC to accept the video conference from home.
