Ok so I just baught a new digital camera which claimed in the catalogue to be mac compatible. I've plugged it in and nothing and I've checked the mac websites support list which I didnt have access too when I got the camera and it's not listed.

So, does anyone have any ideas on how I might get this working? I remember seeing a program that claimed to add support to your mac for a huge list of extra cameras and webcams? Any help is appreciated if all else fails I have a 7day guarantee so I could take it back.

EDIT: The instruction manual also says it works on macs 'note: on mac os 9 or os x you will not need to install the camera drivers' it says a new icon should appear on the desktop 'untitled' ?
 
Nevermind I figured it out ! Incase anyone else gets this camera and has this problem, it was because I had plugged the usb lead into the keyboard usb port. For some reason it doesn't like that? As soon as I plugged it into another on the side of my emac it opened up iphoto immediately.
 
Now another problem. The camera keeps saying that the batterys are dead but they're brand new I've tried 3 different sets from different packets? It was working find before I started trying to connect it to my mac.

I should also add that I installed the drivers on virtual pc running windows 98se before I managed to get it working on os x. Now as soon as I disconnect the usb cable and power on it gets to the menu screen then the low battery thing shows up and it switches itself off. Any ideas on this?
