I just purchased Virtual PC with DOS to install my own copy of Windows 98. I followed the instructions Connectix provides, but upon first launch into the newly installed Win98, I get a message telling me the Registry has a problem that can be fixed by rebooting the computer. Rebooting causes a DOS-based program to run which "fixes" the Registry and launches Windows. Then I get the same error message and have to reboot (i.e. endless loop).
What could I be doing wrong. Here are the basic specs:
Virtual PC 5.0
Mac OS X 10.1.1
128 M allocated to VPC
Windows 98 (I believe it might be an OEM version)
The only issues I can think of would be:
1) If this is an OEM version of the OS it might not run correctly with an emulator expecting a full version of the software.
2) VPC might not work well with a non-Second Edition version of Windows 98.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help!
