I own an Airport Express which does VPN Passthrough. I assume this means the router itself will NOT act as an endpoint to which I could connect when using my iBook away from home.
If this is so, what software do I need to run on my PowerMac G5 running Mac OS X Tiger (non-server version) at home so it can be the endpoint of my VPN connection?
What software is needed (if any) on my iBook to initiate the connection to my PowerMac G5?
I would prefer freeware solutions if there are any. If anyone knows where explicit instructions for setting this up on a Mac can be found, please point me to the URL.
Here is what I am trying to do. I would like to use the wireless connection provided by most hotels to securely surf the web. This means encrypting my data on their wireless network so they cannot see it. As I understand it, using a VPN to my home will allow me to then use my home connection to go out over the web.
