Waiting for Network Initilization...stall?

Hello,

When my osx computer is booting up it stalls out at the point where it says waiting for network initilization....and doesn't connect when I get into osx. Any suggestions as to why it does this...and even better a remedy :)

Thanks for your time,
Steve

There's a good chance that the stall is actually your computer trying to obtain an IP address out its ethernet interface (but can't, because it's not hooked up or there's a problem). You mention that OS X "doesn't connect when [you] get in". Do you use the network interface? What does it connect to? Do you use a router to get to an interface?

Details on your setup would be helpful...

I am not sure what you mean about using a network interface. In pref/network I have Location: automatic; Show: Built-in Ethernet; Configure: Using DHCP. It shows an ip address and subnet mask as well. I am using a linksys router, and the 2 xp machines that I have running from the router work ok. Thanks for any suggestions!

Peace,
Steve
