Want a new mac but dont know what to choose

Im looking for a new mac but have no clue what to choose. I would like any mac out there now but just like all of them. I will be selling my mac so ill just put the diff in for a new machine. Things i will deff need is a superdrive and at least 512mb. Price around 1200 for tower and imac and labtops at 1500. I just dont know what to choose. I may need to upgrade but also may not so it doesnt matter. Just wondering what you guys would get.
 
If i had the money i would get myself an iMac , i have an eMac now and i love it so glad i bought it..
recently converted from pc to mac and im never going back... :)
 
I'm in the same situation now other than the fact that I'm trying to decide between the single 1 ghz and the dual 1.25's.

I've been holding onto the G3 for a long time and I told myself that I would be skipping over the G4... waiting for the next great thing. Well, I think I've waited long enough, even though there is talk about the g4's replacement. I get to looking aback and remembering there's been talk of the "G5" since a few scant months after the G4's introduction. It could be quite a while till that day comes around.
 
Look at smalldog.com they have good discounts on powermacs and iMacs. Though they are lacking in the powerbook department.

If i had money that i wasn't using towards tuition i would get a laptop. I prefer a powerbook G4 but the iBook fits into my style of laptops more.
