Wanted: Super-cheap Mac System...

Hello!

I am looking for a good computer for my grandparents...they have been using a PC and I would like to get them on to a Macintosh...however, they say they will only try it if they can get a good one for under $200

So, if there is anyone out there who has a good used system that would like to "convert" a pc user over to a macintosh I need your help...

I will need a good system for them, I would like to be able to run OS 10 on it, they would also like a printer (doesn't need to be a really good quality inkjet or anything, just something that would be able to print up good WP documents) the hard drive should not need to be over 20G. This could be a laptop or a desktop (more preferably a laptop but Ill take what I can get) but it needs to run OS X not to slowly.

If someone has this system used or something, maybe you upgraded to a newer one or something, and would be willing to part with it for under $200 please let me know...

Sorry man, but that's not gonna fly for under $200. That probably wouldn't happen under $400. You can probably get an iBook 300 for about $400 but that only has like a .. 3 or 6 gb hard drive. I don't think a 233 iMac would be able to handle X decently enough to impress anyone.

I just don't see it really happening for anything under 500 clams.

What about a beige G3? They aren't cosmetically nice, but powerful enough to run OS X, and both cheaper and easier to upgrade than iMacs. I tried a search for ended auctions for beige G3's at ebay, most of them end at between 100-200$. A CRT monitor is really cheap.
Could that be an idea?
In case they should want more power, you could get them a G4 ZIF upgrade card, 450 MHz G4s sell for around 150-200$ at ebay
